Dates: June 9th – 14th, 2013

 

Day 1 – June 9th (Sun.) – Arrive in New York City
Welcome to New York City!  Your Program Director will greet you at the airport for your transfer into Manhattan.  Your first in the ‘Big Apple’ will be at NBC STUDIOS, where you will see on your tour through the halls the stages for Saturday Night Live and NBC Nightly News.  After free time for lunch, enjoy a WALKING TOUR of Midtown, the heart of Manhattan, packed with architectural landmarks.  See St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, and Rockefeller Center.  Continue your walking tour to Central Park, one of the most frequently visited urban parks in the U.S.  Stop at Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Terrace, Boathouse, and Bow Bridge.  After gathering with your traveling companions for a welcome dinner, enjoy awe-inspiring views of the ‘Big Apple’ from the elegant EMPIRE STATE BUILDING! Day 2 –
June 10 (Mon.) – New York City                                     
Today, participate in an independently organized workshop at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Then, head south for your SOUTH SIDE SIGHTSEEING TOUR including Greenwich Village, SoHo, and Chinatown where you will have dinner.  Tonight experience the awe of BLUE MAN GROUP.  (B,D)

Day 3 – June 11 (Tues.) – New York City                                                                   
Depart on your guided SIGHTSEEING TOUR and view many of New York’s most notable attractions such as Times Square, Wall Street, Trump Tower and stop at GROUND ZERO.  Next, is a behind the scenes tour at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL where you will meet a world famous Radio City Rockette!  At dinner you will be received with a special BROADWAY WELCOME by a professional actor who offers a personal sharing of his experiences and a backstage glance at preparations for the BROADWAY SHOW you will attend this evening.  (B,D)

Day 4 – June 12 (Wed.) – New York City                                                                      Begin the day with a LINCOLN CENTER TOUR.  Go behind the scenes where a spectacular range of artists have performed, including Luciano Pavarotti, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Bruce Springsteen.  Enjoy free time for lunch in Hell’s Kitchen, a neighborhood known for its large variety of restaurants.  Later, partake in an interactive FILM WORKSHOP.  Learn from the professionals about each job behind a film from the actors to the producers, to the techies.  Tonight head to Harlem dinner at SYLVIA’S HARLEM RESTAURANT and take in a show at the APOLLO THEATER, founded in the mid-19th century and today one of the most famous music halls in the U.S!  (B,D)

Day 5 – June 13 (Thurs.) – New York City                                                                       
This morning take a FERRY to visit America’s symbol of welcome and hope, the Statue of Liberty. Then on to Ellis Island to learn the story of the 12 million immigrants who passed through New York. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to do as you please. Your Program will have an array of suggestions as to how to best spend your time. Tonight, celebrate the success of this theatrical adventure at a farewell dinner; the perfect finale to an outstanding vacation. (B,D)

Day 6 – June 14 (Fri.) – New York City
Spend the morning at the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART.  Later your group will be transferred to the airport for departing flights.  (B)
NOTE: Normal checkout time applies. Sightseeing depends on flight schedule.
